$150, Vintage Art Deco Silver Plate SERVICE for 8-BOX 71 Y/O

Beautiful Ornate Art Deco Silver Plate Flatware set...this is a service for 8, and in a beautiful solid real wood box.

This lovely set was my mothers mothers set, and is quite old. Everything is perfect, even the inside. I was told by a dealer that the inside was originally a red felt, but now this once red interior is now a salmon type pink colour. Still, of course, does not affect the quality of the set.

The box is finished, and the underside of the box is the raw wood as all vintage items were.

My grandmother received this at her 25th anniversary, and I was told from my mother, that it was NEVER used. This makes SUCH a nicer gift for a bride that does not want the non-traditional flatware such as Oneida or perhaps for the gal who is old fashion/vintage at heart, and prefers silver plate.

Original paper is still in the box, although faded with age, still an amazing piece.

Handles are amazingly engraved and are silver plate...I've just polished them, and in time after use, all silver plate needs to be polished. The only stainless steel is on the cutting part of the knives.

I don't entertain, so my loss is your gain.

I love the knots in the wood, truly stunning in my opinion.
I was told by a dealer that the underside of these estate items usually in most cases, is left raw. I'm sure the bride-to-be or the person buying this can do that if they feel they do not like the look of unfinished wood, however, leaving it this way, keeps its original beauty.

I've checked over the entire box and inside and really can only find the fading which adds to the beauty.
