Manhattan NYC ! I teach French to people who have intellect and style; to people who are mentally and emotionally equipped to learn and appreciate the subtle nuances of this beautiful and powerful language. My students are from all walks of life (though many are from an artistic, musical, or theatrical background) but they all have certain things in common: taste, sophistication, and an appreciation for the beauty of language and life. I love this work because many of my students ultimately become my friends as well, and then our relationship becomes a truly enriching experience for us both.

I teach all levels. For beginners, I teach using methods which I have developed over many years to make them highly effective. When I teach advanced learners, we travel the road of great French literature and conversation together on an intellectual journey that informs, enriches, and rewards us both.

I believe that language is what makes us human, and that if you expand your language skills you enhance your life experience. Do you agree?

Some specifics: I am, of course, a native French speaker. I teach all levels. I teach one-on-one or two-on-one lessons only, because I think that works best. I teach in my home which is conveniently located near the West Village. I have had many years of teaching experience. References are available to serious inquirers. My rates are reasonable. I offer a free introduction to my method to those who are seriously interested.
